Psalms 114:7-8, “Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Jacob; Which turned the rock into a standing water, The flint into a fountain of waters.”
The Bible describes how God created all things with the word of His mouth. It tells of the hand of God that held back the mighty waters of the Red Sea. It describes the power that He has over the armies of men, impenetrable walls, and laws of physics. His power is limitless!
It is astounding to think that this power is made available to the Christian today through the work of God’s Spirit that dwells in each of us. When Samson was on the earth, his great strength was from the Spirit of God. In our life, the strength through great difficulties also comes through the Lord. The power to be a great witness, to boldly proclaim the truth of Christ, and to go fearlessly into a foreign field all comes from the power of God working through the submitted life.
It is a wonder that so many Christians today are clueless about the power of God in their life. They have no idea that sin can be overcome, that victory can be realized, nor that they can be used of God to bring unbelievers to Christ. When the apostles faced great persecution, it was the power of God that sustained them. Today, God desires to give that same spiritual power to believers so that this world might be transformed. May we submit to Him and walk humbly with our God so that His power might work in us as well.
